Are Posh and I the Same Person?

I'm starting to think so...

"I love women. I like them as friends, as interesting people to speak with. But I love gay men. I always say it: inside me there is a gay man who wants to come out! With heterosexual men, I have nothing in common - excluding my husband, brothers and father, you understand."

Blashemy!

I don't like cover songs at the best of times. Yeah, I know most bands start out as cover bands and that's the only time I'll let it slide. You gotta start somewhere, right?

Well, I've noticed a recent trend in bubblegum pop groups covering or sampling Depeche Mode.

What's going on? Have the pop group manufacturers laid off all the writers in the factory due to the economy?

I made it through 25 seconds of The Saturdays cover of Just Can't Get Enough (I know, a long time but I had to hear the first line) and two things went through my mind:

1) I wish I was deaf
2) A bad cover song should be punished with jail time with no option of parole

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

"I Know I Believe in Nothing, but it is My Nothing"

Dear Richey Edwards:

The news that your family changed your legal status to "presumed dead" has left me heartbroken. I find it strange that, after almost 14 years, I'm sitting in my room crying as I type this. The wound feels fresh again now that it's "official."

May 15, 1991 - Richey carved "4 Real" into his arm with a razorblade in response
to an NME journalist questioning the Manics punk-rock credentials.

Deep in my black heart, I always held hopes that one day you would return or, for your family's sake, your body be found so they could have closure. You never made any secret of your struggles with depression, self-harm and anorexia, but could you have taken your own life? Only you know the answer. "I don't blame you."

Culture Sluts

Thank you for all the beautiful music you made with the Manic Street Preachers.  Your song Little Baby Nothing inspired this blog and inspires me every day.  The Holy Bible is your masterpiece and still sounds incredible and relevant after 14 years.

Richey on suicide, 1994: "In terms of the 'S' word, that does not enter my mind.
And it never has done, in terms of an attempt.  Because I am stronger than that.
I might be a weak person, but I can take pain."

I still believe that you're out there somewhere.  Maybe living happily in a peaceful and quiet part of the world.

Stay Beautiful.

Love,
Christina xxx

Post Secret

You should see my Facebook photos!

A friend recently turned me on to the Post Secret blog.  It seems I'm late to the show as everyone around me knew about this phenomenon and there are even Post Secret books.

Since I was young, I've felt no connection to the social standards placed, specifically, on girls. Family gatherings are filled with questions inquiring as to the whereabouts of my boyfriend.

"Never felt like I needed any man to comfort me in life."

Post Secret reminds me that I'm not alone in the world.  There are others who feel what I feel and it makes me smile.  The above secret, literally, could have been written by me.

There's nothing wrong with getting married (or having a boyfriend/girlfriend).  It's just not at the top of my "to do" list.  Plus, Mr. Darcy seems to have forgotten my number.

Super Cute Valentine's Day Card!

 by kseniya

I believe that in about 10 years my sister will be sending me this Valentine's Day card.

Description:

"Fourth in our Valentine series, and first in our We Heart The Smiths, You Heart The Smiths series.  The tiny, tiny heart belies our deep abiding love for both The Smiths and Steven Patrick Morrissey.

Kseniya's brother sent her this in a text message, but really it speaks to every repentant child of the 80s."

Noel Gallagher on The Smiths - a must watch!

Morrissey - All You Need is Me, from Years of Refusal album (Feb. 23/09)

The Smiths - There is a Light That Never Goes Out, my favourite song EVER.

The Perfect Man!

I was starting to think that there was no man out there for me. Well, he exists and only costs $19.95!

Meet the "Boyfriend Arm Pillow." He sounds like a steal:

"Never curl up on the couch alone again, with this comforting arm that wraps around you as if to say, "I'm sorry work was rotten today," or "No, you pick what we watch tonight," all the stuff you'd never hear from a real boyfriend.  Polyester filled with comfortable, snuggly foam."

Now I'll have someone to snuggle with while I watch True Blood.

"I Wanna Do Bad Things with You"

I recently discovered the hottest show not on T.V., True Blood
("It's not TV. It's HBO"). This show gets my blood boiling for all the right reasons!

"Isn't that show...pornographic?," asked my sister. Oh yes! I used to be in bed, alone, Sunday at 9 p.m. Now I have something to look forward to. My sister is now hooked as well.

Would you say "no" to him?!

Vampire Bill Compton's vitals read like I wrote them for my "What Are You Looking For?" blurb on Lavalife.

I watched the first seven episodes online and so can you, WatchTVSitcoms.com

*Note: I do not have a Lavalife account. I swear.*
